Sat Feb 27 Should we assign additional better tags to this bug or can it be triaged? This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn’t been any activity in it recently. Therefore no piassion video device for cheese, camorama etc.
Also, please be sure to provide any requested information that may have been missing. This bug affects 4 people. As a result this bug is being closed.

What I had expected: Maybe it’s not a good idea to test it while running a Live-DVD and not from an installed system from hard-disk. Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu?

Or let’s say the device is not reporting “14 Video” but ” Vendor Specific Class”. Please, what else can I do to assist in getting this fixed soon? If this issue still exists in a supported series, please file a new bug.
It must have been using the other camera’s resource and driver. Device would be recognized and ipassino camera would be usable in at least in one linux application.
It has an iP camera chip.
